I just saw a documentary on Rome’s buildings and architects the other day. The dome was a model in shear genius.

You’re spot on. I believe people essentially forgot how to build it after the Ancient Romans. Revitalised in the Renaissance (I think!).

Your photos are great!
I have been to Rome once, and it is a wonderful city, and for photographing architecture it is so many fantastic places to go to, just wonderful!

Thank you very much. It’s an amazing city for sure, incredible history from such diverse periods.

So close to the U.K. why haven’t I been there yet. A 3 week backpack tour round Italy and I’m sure that I still wouldn’t half of the place. I particularly like your Santa Maria photo.

You simply have to do it! No questions. You may not see half of it, but the near half that you see will be more than worth it!
