About

I find it difficult to write anything here that would be remotely interesting or thought-provoking.

The state of mind I reach when writing is calming and I have long wished to be a good writer. Unfortunately, never having put anywhere near the requisite amount of time and effort into the craft, my skills are lacking and I partly set this blog up as a means to improving my skills.

4 years later, the blog is more a photographic one. That’s ok I suppose. Photography is a worthy creative outlet, just probably not one I wished to pursue so thoroughly with my time.

I am a 28 year old teacher. Currently, I teach prep children in Melbourne.

Travel, music and sport are my three “passions” – thus proving my original sentence in this “about” section. I have two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels which make appearances every now and then in the blog.

A quick explanation of the setup of the site:

Home Page: The latest 5 posts.

Blogs: A selection of my favourite blogs – not even close to exhaustive.

In and Around: A photographic adventure through the suburbs (and sites) of Mebourne.

Photos: Some of my favourite photos I’ve taken.

Places: Links to photos of places I’ve been lucky enough to visit (not do!)

Posts: Links to written posts. This is a banal section that receives little affection.

Themes: Exploration of a theme through photography and narrative.

  2. Glad you liked “I Have Lived”. I do not always feature poems, but since I am taking this online poetry class it seems the thing to blog about at the moment.

You photos are lovely! I can’t draw either so photography is the best I can do in the art department.

  13. Hi. Sorry it’s taken me a while to say thanks for following my blog, I’m very new at this whole thing, you probably noticed mine is defintiely a work in progress, there’s not even anything on my about page yet. Though ironically enough I’m a primary school teacher who lives in and loves Melbourne, a little synergy there for sure. I haven’t had a chance to read much of your stuff yet but I will with the school holidays upon us now, the pictures are spectacular though.
I hope you enjoy the stream of conciousness I’m trying to pass off as satire, it’s like therapy for me.

Very nicely done! I enjoyed reading your blog and discovering our mutual passions for Paris, and I especially enjoyed all the Eiffel Tower photos. My family and I were so taken with the Eiffel Tower that we purchased a piece of it (yes, it’s possible!) and we’ve created a collection of fine fashion jewelry made with actual pieces of the tower. In the event you’re interested, our site is here: http://www.korbella.com

May you always have Paris in your heart and in your dreams! Paul

  26. Hey, I just want you to know that I BELIEVE that YOU CAN draw and paint. You have sight. Do what you feel or see to the best of your ability. From the most Professional Artist winning exhibitions, or an Artist in Art History, to completely untrained folks, or even someone who never picked up a brush, EVERYONE’S expression and art is VALID! I suggest you just do it, there are no rules. It is playing to me, so have FUN! thank
